Jessica joins the Fresh CrEd crew on a beautiful Monterey day to discuss the challenges and efforts of feeding an entire city worth of kids day in and day out. Jessica shares her journey from working at Cincinnati’s health department to working in school nutrition. Jessica was instrumental in introducing salad bars into Cincinnati’s 67 schools, an incredible feat considering most of her students live within food deserts. Jessica shares her ideas and thoughts on introducing fresh produce to kids early and the way that this exposure forms healthy and meaningful connections that will last a lifetime. It was awesome listening to Jessica speak on her experience at IFPA’s foodservice conference and the value it provides to her team and the benefits it brings back home to her district.
